With reference to the notice posted on 3 February 2016 (CO.ZA Data Policy Update), the CO.ZA technical systems have been updated to allow registrars to include the Administrative, Technical and Billing contact objects as part of a domain name registration and life-cycle. This change has also been applied to the CO.ZA OT&E server at “coza-otande.registry.net.za:3121”.
Registrars may now include the 3 contact objects in new domain name registrations on the Live CO.ZA system, as well as update their current CO.ZA domain names to include the 3 contact objects. Please note that updating of existing domain name registrations to include the 3 contact objects is subject to the standard domain update policy and procedure, which will provide an update email to the registrant of the domain name. Updating of a CO.ZA domain name to include the additional 3 contact types will NOT be subject to the 5 day Pending Update Period.
The CO.ZA WHOIS Template has also been updated to be uniform across the ZACR administered namespaces. The old CO.ZA and new CO.ZA WHOIS template are now both active. The old WHOIS template will be operational until 2 May 2016, after which the template will be decommissioned. The old WHOIS server is still available at “whois.registry.net.za” and the new template WHOIS server is available at “coza-whois.dns.net.za”.
